Open the Cages Alliance (OTCA)

Open the Cages Alliance (OTCA) is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing and ending animal cruelty and promoting compassionate, healthy and environmentally responsible living through public awareness projects and targeted campaigns.

We serve the Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC regions.

OTCA looks forward to working with other social justice organizations to highlight the interconnectedness of oppression and have an impact in our communities. Thank you for your support!

Open the Cages Alliance was a Bronze Sponsor of the 2010 Animal Rights National Conference, the world's largest and oldest animal rights gathering. It was wonderful to connect with friends, old and new. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped at our table, and the sponsor who donated the bronze sponsorship to OTCA which made it possible for us to exhibit at this fantastic conference!

July's Vegan Bake Sale was a scrumptious good time! Thanks to all our volunteers who came out to help, and to everyone who was sweet enough to purchase sweet treats from our table! Please save room for goodies at our next monthly bake sale, scheduled for Saturday, August 7 at Station North Flea Market. We will have copies of Hannah Kaminsky's "passionate about dessert" cookbook My Sweet Vegan available for sale in addition to delicious treats!
